Hamish Sewell is the founder of Soundtrails. He has a bachelor in communications, first class honours, a masters in creative writing and is now enrolled in a PhD with Macquarie University studying locative media.
After Hamish produced his first radio feature, The Interminable Son, in 2000, he never looked back and ever since, he has been an avid lover of digital audio storytelling.
In response to the parlous direction radio was going in Australia, and on the back of a number of national oral history projects he was working on, Hamish founded Soundtrails in 2013.
Hamish sees Soundtrails as playing one part in an emerging indie locative audio field/industry where sound is seen as a primary tool for immersive experiences and empowering local voices and community connections.
He is one of the international advisors with the Walk, Create team and over time, he hopes to see a more dynamic and robust pool of producers coming into locative audio. For more on Hamish Sewell go to https://storiedland.com/: contact details: firstname.lastname@example.org
